Bear in mind
The final sales terms of the Product will be those acknowledged and accepted by the buyer in the corresponding quote and/or signed contract, including any applicable technical annexes (blueprints, calculation reports). The warranty covers repairs or service re-execution when applicable. If repair or re-execution is not feasible, the product will be replaced with another of the same specifications. In any case, if the product is totally or partially damaged due to a defective service, the customer may opt for a monetary refund equivalent to its value, in accordance with Article 2.2.2.32.4.1 of Decree 1074 of 2015.
The warranty will only be valid if the customer (including the end user) meets all maintenance and upkeep obligations as outlined in this document. Failure to comply will result in the loss of warranty coverage. The legal warranty period starts from the moment the product is delivered to the customer or end user. “Delivery” means the product is made available to the customer or end user, whether at an agreed location or through installation. For recurring or partial deliveries, the warranty period begins on the delivery date of each individual product.
You’ll also lose your warranty rights for surfaces and accessories that have been damaged due to impacts, mechanical or manual abuse—whether caused by hard objects or corrosive products—by the customer, end user (including workers, contractors, or general visitors). The warranty will also be void if any components are handled by unauthorized personnel outside of GGLASS while the warranty is still active or if any external modifications are made.
Shipping & Delivery
GGLASS will deliver the goods or products as agreed in the contract or stated in the quotation, as applicable. For scheduled or milestone-based deliveries, the customer or their representative must check that the order matches the request or that the installation meets full satisfaction at the time of delivery. Any claims must be reported immediately to the carrier or GGLASS representative and documented in writing on the delivery note; otherwise, no warranty will be assumed.
If the delivery or installation process is complex, the customer or their representative has ten (10) business days to submit a written notice of any inconsistencies, defects, or damages they believe should be covered under warranty. If no claim is received within this period, the delivery will be considered fully accepted, with no further liability.
Customer Rights & Responsibilities for Warranty
The customer's specific rights and responsibilities, in addition to those granted by special laws, include the following:

What’s Not Covered Under Warranty
- Situations that count as acts of God or unforeseen circumstances.
- Acts attributable to third parties, including protests, riots, or civil disturbances.
- Damages or defects unrelated to the product's components, manufacturing, or structure—including but not limited to fires, object impacts, or blows that may cause breakage—are not covered.
- Acts that involve intentional misconduct or negligence by the customer, including failure to meet regular maintenance and upkeep obligations as outlined in this document.
- Unauthorized repairs or modifications carried out by anyone not approved by GGLASS will void the warranty. Any DIY repair attempts by the customer or user will result in the immediate loss of warranty coverage.
- Defects or damage caused by improper use, unauthorized chemicals (not listed in the technical sheets or this document), tampering, or break-in attempts. GGLASS is not responsible for damage to products other than our own.
- Damage to profiles and glass caused during finishing work by third parties—work not covered by the company’s responsibility.
- Structural shifts in buildings—especially within the first two years of construction—can cause glass breakage and structural wear. Because of this, GGLASS does not cover damages resulting from these conditions under warranty.
Windows & Glass Systems, Grilles, Doors, Shower Enclosures, Handrails & Mirrors
1. Aluminum Framing & Profiles
GGLASS backs its aluminum profiles with a solid warranty—10 years on the chemical composition and 1 year covering manufacturing defects, including functionality and finish. This applies when used and maintained properly. Note: Check the warranty details for "BEARINGS" accessories.
Heads up! The aluminum comes with a protective plastic film (Bluemax), which must be removed by the construction team once the project is completed. Make sure not to leave it on for more than 3 months—over time, heat and exposure make it stick harder, which can damage the paint. Due to this, GGLASS does not cover warranty claims related to this issue.
Avoid heavy loads, tangled cables, and hard hits—they can warp or damage the frame enclosures.
Aluminum Care & Maintenance Tips
Tough, Weather-Resistant Material Lightweight and corrosion-resistant, this material is perfect for windows, grilles, and doors. To clean, simply wipe it down with a damp cloth and mild soap, then remove any excess with a clean, damp rag. Finish by drying with a fresh, dry cloth.
- Don't use abrasive materials, acids, thinner, or any harsh solvents—they'll damage the material.
- Concrete and welding sparks can stain aluminum, so it should be properly covered during construction work.
- Clean the drains once a month. If needed, clear out any clogs in the drainage holes. Wipe off dirt, dust, and grease from the track regularly with a cloth (at least every 3 months).
2. Sealant
The sealing comes with a 6-month warranty. This perimeter seal, made with high-quality silicone, creates a tough, long-lasting, flexible, and airtight bond. It stands out for its excellent weather resistance and its ability to withstand high temperatures and humidity.
Sealing is only applied to one side of the window frame, either exterior or interior. Gaps must be less than 5mm between the profile and the construction opening perimeter. Otherwise, depending on the situation, additional sealing options are available at an extra cost.
If you’ve already set the measurements for manufacturing, we’ll double-check the openings. If they don’t match the agreed specs, the site must adjust them to fit the windows properly. For sealing structures and adding protective layers to glass, we use silicone based on technical requirements and the product’s final finish.
3. Gear & Accessories
GGLASS backs its mechanisms with a 6-month warranty, as outlined in this manual. Sliding windows and doors need regular maintenance to keep them running smoothly and extend their lifespan. The maintenance schedule may vary depending on weather conditions and location.

Tips & Care for Accessories
Packaging:
Key Features: High-pressure gaskets made of EPDM rubber (Ethylene-Propylene-Diene Monomer) or silicone, depending on the application in aluminum systems. They offer outstanding resistance to ozone and harsh environmental conditions. Avoid cleaning with abrasive materials, acids, or petroleum-based solvents, as they can damage the gasket.
Bearings:
Keep those tracks clean so the rollers don’t pick up dirt—that’ll mess with their lifespan and smooth operation. For an easier glide, hit the tracks with some spray lubricant. And hey, don’t yank the window open from the center profile or latch—ALWAYS use the handle or lock!
Heads up: The rails may show normal paint wear since the system’s bearings rub against the aluminum. This is considered standard use and is not covered under warranty.
Adjustable arms & casement window hinges
It’s best to lubricate regularly with spray lubricants. Don’t force the locking hardware—doing so can cause misalignment.
Soft-close door hinges:
It's best to replace it every year or after 500,000 cycles, whichever comes first.
Locks – YALE-style handles:
We recommend getting lubrication and maintenance done by a professional locksmith or the accessory manufacturer. It's best to replace it every 400,000 cycles. Never leave the handle in a halfway position—this can cause misalignment, irregular wear, and malfunctioning over time.
Stainless Steel Gear:
These accessories are mainly used for shower enclosures and handrails. Any rails or fittings that the customer requests to be externally painted may experience paint chipping due to friction, and the paint job is not covered under warranty. The customer must approve and sign off on this service, waiving any warranty claims. For natural stainless steel, regular cleaning with mild soap or stainless steel cleaner is recommended, followed by rinsing with clean water.
4. Glass & Glazing
Always scrub in the direction of the grain—never against it. Avoid using metal scrubbers or wire brushes, as they can scratch the surface. For best results, clean every 2 to 3 months, or more frequently if buildup is heavier.
Heads up: For recommendations on other types of accessories, please request the product's technical sheet. Due to the nature and fragility of glass, it does not come with a warranty for visual defects such as scratches, breakage, stains, chips, nicks, or inclusions—unless these are immediately inspected and reported by the customer. All assessments must follow the inspection method and maximum permissible tolerances outlined in the Colombian technical standard: NTC 1909:2019.
- All tempered glass can experience spontaneous breakage due to its thermal treatment, which is a natural characteristic and not covered under warranty.
- All tempered glass panels come with a front or edge logo stamp for identification. This marking is standard and does not qualify for warranty claims.
- COOLLITE glass products follow only the specs outlined in the technical sheet, depending on the variety.
- Condensation on glass is totally normal—it happens because of temperature differences between inside and outside. This kind of condensation isn’t covered under warranty unless it forms inside double-pane (insulated) glass.
- Don’t stick any aftermarket accessories on laminated glass, especially if they have adhesives that could cause a chemical reaction with the glass components. Also, never clean laminated glass with alcohol, soaps, or non-biodegradable solutions—chemicals in these products can seep into the PVB layer and cause delamination.
Glass Care & Maintenance Tips
- Don't clean with abrasive materials, acids, or petroleum-based solvents—they can damage the glass and cause stains.
- Cement, welding sparks, or paint can stain the glass, so it should always be protected during construction work.
- Avoid heavy or repeated impacts, especially on edges and corners—they’re the weakest spots and can crack easily.
- Clean with a mix of liquid soap and water, or use glass cleaners.
Visual inspections must be done with 20/20 vision (natural or corrected). The observer should examine the sample at a 90º angle (perpendicular) to the surface using the following lighting unless stated otherwise: daylight illumination (without direct sunlight) or a diffused and even backlight that mimics daylight, with a minimum luminance of 1700 lux measured on the glass surface facing the light source.
Check out the regulations NTC 1909, NTC 5756, and NTC 5783.
Common defect tolerances: Bubbles & inclusions:
Based on NTC 1909:2019.
Scuffs Any scratch, scuff, or nick on the glass surface caused during manufacturing, transport, or storage.
Chips: A small, circular dent on the edge of the glass caused by a tiny fragment breaking off the surface. Warping (Bow): For annealed clear glass, total bow and warp are measured according to section 7.8 of NTC 5783:2010 or any future updates, modifications, or replacements of this standard.
Premium glass film installation GGLASS hooks you up with a 6-month installation warranty on our tinted films (available in different shades), as long as you follow the recommended guidelines. These films bring:
- Superior Sun Control
- Including heat rejection, UV blocking, and glare reduction.
- Crystal-clear vision.
- Ultimate outdoor visibility.
Tips & Maintenance for Window Film
- Hold off on cleaning the product for at least 15 days after installation.
- For cleaning, use a soft cloth or a scratch-free sponge dampened with water and mild soap—don’t apply the liquid directly to the film.
- If you're cleaning the glass from the outside, don’t use the same water inside—outdoor water can have particles that might scratch the film.
- Avoid using ammonia or alcohol-based mixtures, as they can damage the film's surface or, in some cases, affect its adhesion.
Mirrors
Defects like scratches, cracks, stains, chips, and inclusions must be inspected and reported immediately in the records, following the inspection method and the maximum allowable tolerances outlined in the Colombian technical standard NTC 6539:2021.
Basic: Due to the delicate and fragile nature of glass, we do not offer any warranty once the product has been delivered and accepted in good condition.
Floating Glass: GGLASS hooks you up with a solid 30-day installation guarantee on floated mirrors with framing.
Mirror Care & Maintenance Tips
- Avoid applying products directly to the mirror, as they can trap moisture and cause stains.
- To clean it, just dampen a paper towel with some glass cleaner or rubbing alcohol and wipe the surface down.
- Don't use abrasive or corrosive materials, and keep it dry—especially around the edges.
